JAMMU, Apr 1: Vijay Heroes crushed Jammu United by 6-5 goals via tie breaker and entered into the next stage of the ongoing 1st Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tournament, being organised by Young Heroes Football Club under the aegis of J&K Football Association (JKFA) at Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College football ground today.
In the first half of the inaugural match, players of both the teams played well and restricted each-other to net the goal and raise the scoreboard.
In the second half, the position remained same and the match ended with no goal.
As both the teams failed to raise the scorecard, the tie-breaker rule was applied, where Anchal Sharma, Dushant Sharma, Arif Ahmed, Sahil Pardhan, Kanab Chib and Nakul Gupta from Vijay Heroes Club converted the penalty kicks into goals.
For Jammu United side, Rakesh Kumar, Chandan Kumar, Romesh Kumar, Koshal Sharma and Sahil Dogra converted the penalty kicks into goals.
During the match, the yellow card was shown to Chandan, Romesh Kumar and Raju in 35th, 41st and 65th minutes respectively.
Harbans Lal, Charan Dass, Rohit Kumar, Raesh Sumberia, Narinder Gupta along with hundreds of sports lovers witnessed the match.
The match was officiated by Suresh Kumar Gupta, Harmanjeet Singh, Tushar Heer and Pankaj Kumar.
In tomorrow fixture, Sainik Colony Football Club will lock horns with Young Tigers in the first match and Young Star will clash with NGR in the second match.
