SRINAGAR, July 21: Asking the officers to ensure adequate supply of electric power during Iftaar and Sehri timings, the Minister of State for Power, Vikar Rasool has said that the officers of different wings of the department should work in close coordination, so that sufficient amount of electricity is provided to the consumers during the Ramzan and also ensuing Eid festivities.
Mr. Vikar was addressing officers during a review meeting convened to discuss the status of various ongoing schemes of the PDD.
It was attended by Principal Secretary, Power, A. K. Mehta, Chief Engineers, SEs, XEns and other senior officers of the department.
Mr. Vikar directed the officers to evolve a mechanism by which the supply of electricity can be rationalized, so that people of all areas get adequate supply of power. He said that the Government is committed to provide sufficient quantity of electricity to the people especially during the holy month of Ramadhan. “The officers should also put in place the necessary steps so that adequate supply of electricity is provided to the consumers of the state especially during the coming Eid festivities as well”, he maintained.
The Minister also asked the officers to ensure that the damaged transformers are repaired within the shortest possible time, so that people do not face any inconvenience. He said that a foolproof mechanism should be put in place to monitor the repair as well as installation of the damaged transformers.
Mr. Vikar also directed for ensuring the closure of RGGVY-1st within a fortnight, so that the next phase of the scheme can be started and electricity provided to those areas that were left out in phase-1st. He said that the officers should coordinate the same and provide the requisite feedback within the shortest possible time.
The Minister also asked for speeding up the Part-B of RAPDRP, so that the people living in towns and other areas get benefitted from this scheme. He also directed for ensuring speedy realization of revenue from the consumers across the State.
