RAMBAN, Oct 20: Minister of State for Tech Education (I/C), Power, CAPD, Law & Parliamentary Affairs, Information, Social Welfare and Rural Development Vikar Rasool Wani today laid foundation stone of Primary Health Centre (PHC) building at Batoo Neel and inaugurated newly completed buildings of Chamalwas Health Sub Centre and ITI Banihal.
Addressing a public gathering after laying   the foundation stone of the PHC, the Minister said that the present Government  has paid    special  focus on expanding the reach of health, education  and other facilities to the remotest areas of the state and in the endeavour opened several new hospitals and schools besides upgrading the infrastructure at the existing ones.
He also listed the development projects completed in the area under core sectors    to improve    health,   education, power and water facilities.
Earlier, the Minister inaugurated a newly completed Health Sub Centre at Chamalwas completed under NRHM District Plan at a cost of Rs. 85 lakh.
The Minister also inaugurated the newly completed building of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Banihal at Hali Maidan.  The ITI building has been completed at a cost of Rs.2.48 cr .
Meanwhile, in absence of  Vikar Rasool, who could not reach at the venue,  MLA Ramban  Ashok Kumar laid the foundation stone for the Government Polytechnic  College building at Chanderkot.
The GPC building is being constructed at a cost of Rs.13.50 cr over 62 Kanals of land at Seri Chanderkot. Presently, the GPC is being run from the old Deputy Commissioner Office building, only offering diploma courses in Electronics and Communications and Electrical.
On the occasion, MLA underlined the need for producing more and more professionals, especially technically skilled youth who could be employed in the numerous  proposed Hydro Power Projects, NHW widening, tunnels and railways in the district for the overall development and the enhancement of per capita income.
Responding to the   local demands, he assured to recommend for the establishment of a hostel for Polytechnic College, besides improvement of lanes and drains, and up-gradation of power infrastructure.
Principal, Polytechnic College, Vivek Sharma, Executive Engineer, PWD, Amar Singh Katoch Panchs and Sarpanchs, besides  prominent citizens  of Ramban district were present on the occasion.
