Vikramaditya pays ex-gratia to Uri martyrs’ families

JAMMU,  Oct 12:  Senior leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Vikramaditya Singh today visited the families of Uri martyrs namely Ravi Pal at Ramgarh and Subedar Karnail Singh at Bishnah to offer condolences on behalf of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and himself provided ex-gratia worth Rs one lakh each to the two families of  the martyrs.
Singh spoke about his family association with the J&K State forces and the Dogra Regiment and paid tributes to the valuable contribution made by soldiers over the years. He said the brave soldiers give the highest sacrifice by laying down their lives to protect the boundaries of our country and today the whole nation stands behind them. He also gave both widows of the martyr soldiers a cheque for Rs one lakh each as a personal contribution towards their relief.
While giving cheques to the widows of martyrs, Vikramadiyta Singh said that it is a small gesture from his part towards martyrs’ families. He said that  nation is indebted to the martyrs.
The PDP leader assured the families that he has taken up the matter of compensation from the State Government for both the families with the Chief Minister and would follow up the case.
Satpal Singh Charak, Rajinder Manhas and Capt Anil Gaur also accompanied  the MLC.
