UDHAMPUR, Feb 20: The inhabitants of village Chownki Jandrodh in Ramnager, today staged a protest demonstration against Irrigation Department for its failure to repair the damaged canal.
Led by social worker Sunil Dutt Sharma, the protesters raised slogans against the Irrigation Department and demanded immediate repair of the canal. Around a year ago, a portion of the canal had washed away due to heavy land sliding and all the water of canal spreads on the way to agriculture land with the result that crop was getting damaged, they explained and alleged that despite repeated requests in this regard, the concerned authorities did nothing to repair the canal.
