Vimarsh, Chander power Hill View Rajouri, APCC to emphatic victories

JAMMU, Oct 18: Former First Class cricketer Vimarsh Kaw and promising batsman Chander Mohan guided Hill View Rajouri Cricket Club and Alpha Productions Cricket Club (APCC) to emphatic victories over their rivals in the ongoing Kashmiri Pandit Cricket League (KPCL) Season-III, being organised by Safran Cricket Club at Country Cricket Stadium Gharota, near here.
In the first match, Hill View Rajouri defeated Ace Cricket Club in an easy contest by 41 runs.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Hill View Rajouri scored a good total of 154 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Surinder Kachroo top scored with 88 off 61 balls, while Vimarsh Kaw and Sarthak Khoda contributed 22 and 13 runs to the total respectively.
For Ace Cricket Club, Mukul Rawal, Shashank Raina and Sachin took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Ace Cricket Club managed to score 119 runs in 29 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process, thus lost the match by 35 runs. Mayank Raina (38), Suhaas Raina (24) and Anmol Wali (18) were the main contributors.
For Hill View Rajouri Club, former First Class player Vimarsh Kaw was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 4 wickets by conceding 20 runs in his 4 overs, while Vicky Raina bagged 2 wickets by giving away 23 runs in his 4 overs. For his superb all-round display, Vimarsh Kaw was adjudged as the man of the match.
In another match, Alpha Productions Cricket Club registered a thrilling 7-run win over Shilputri Cricket Club in an exciting contest.
Batting first, APCC scored a good total of 163 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Chander Mohan top scored with 55 runs off 40 balls, while Sarthak Peshin and Sushant Ganjoo contributed 37 and 20 runs to the total respectively.
For Shailputri Cricket Club, Rahil took 3 wickets, while Deepak Pandita bagged 2 wickets and Nihal Koul claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, Shailputri Cricket Club scored 156 runs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 7 runs. Ashish Koul (50), Hritik Bhat (28) and Rahil Mughal (16) were the main scorers. Utkarsh Koul and Rockey Raina captured 3 wickets each, while Anmol bagged 2 wickets. Chander Mohan was adjudged as the man of the match for his superb batting show.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Singh and Rohan as the umpires, while Arun Zalpuri was the scorer and Ajay Peshin the match referee.
