JAMMU, Oct 10: Vinay Baldotra of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Sunderbani won the title of Sunderbani Idol by emerging winner in the finale of Kalidhar Sunderbani Idol Singing Competition held today at Kalidhar Auditorium, Sunderbani in Rajouri.
The event was started under the aegis of Kalidhar Brigade on October 8, 2014 with the aim of encouraging children to explore their talent and strengthen their confidence in the field of singing.
The competition started with screening round where children from 18 schools of Sunderbani Zone participated and 14 participants were shortlisted for the next round.
Today in the finale, six finalists gave exceptional performance on different songs out of which Vinay Baldotra emerged winner. Anmol Sharma of International Public High School, Baja Bain was 1st Runners up and Priyanka Latwal of Kalidhar Memorial Army School, Sunderbani was 2nd Runners up.
As a special gesture, Kalidhar Brigade accommodated the winner by giving him a chance to perform at the All India Radio, Jammu.
The event was witnessed by Deputy General Officer Commanding, Crossed Swords Division, Commander, Kalidhar Brigade, SDM Sunderbai, parents, teachers and prominent members of the civil administration.
