JAMMU, June 24: Splendid inning of 53 runs off 24 balls and 3 wickets haul by Vinod directed Eleven Stars Akhnoor to register 74 runs victory over Little Flower School, Akhnoor and advance into next stage of the ongoing Summer Cup Akhnoor T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organised by Singh Cricket Club at Government Higher Secondary School ground, Akhnoor today.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Eleven Stars put a target of 214 runs for 6 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Vinod was the top scorer with 53 runs, whereas Ricky, Sahil and Makhan made 42, 38 and 26 runs respectively.
From Little Flower School side, Sushil scalped 2 wickets, whereas Sunil, Shanky and Dheeraj took one wicket apiece.
In reply, Little Flower School failed to chase the target and were bundled out at 140 runs for all out in 19.5 overs. Shanky made 28 runs, whereas Gappa, Sushil Pawa, Sunil and Deepak Mangotra contributed with 24, 23, 20 and 19 runs respectively.
For Eleven Stars side, Vinod was the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets, whereas Ravi scalped 2 wickets. Makhan, Danny and Rickey took 1 wicket each.
Vinod of Eleven Stars Akhnoor was declared as man of the match for his all round performance.
The match was officiated by Vikas Bali and Sonu Malhotra as umpires, whereas Manik Sharma maintained the scoreboard.
This tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh, President, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor.
