JAMMU, Feb 18: Brilliant all-round display by Vinod Koul guided Sharda Cricket Club to a narrow win by 10 runs over Sharika Cricket Club in the ongoing Kashmiri Pandit Premier League (KPPL) Edition-4, being organised by Lalitaditya Sports, Education and Health Organisation (LSEHO) at KC Sports Club here today.
Dedicated to the martyrs of J&K, the tournament is being organised with a twin objective of promoting sports and unity among the Kashmiri Pandit youth in exile. Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Sharda Cricket Club scored a good total of 154 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process.
Manoj top scored with 42 runs off 32 balls with 7 fours, while Vinod Koul contributed 33 runs off 30 balls with 6 boundaries. Jai Kishan Mantoo was the most successful bowler for Sharika Cricket Club, who took 3 wickets by conceding 30 runs in his 4 overs. In reply, Sharika Cricket Club scored 144 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs, thus lost the match by a margin of 10 runs.
Rakesh Dass played a brilliant innings of 49 runs off 43 balls, studded with 7 fours and one six, while no other batter gave any significant contribution. Vinod Koul was the pick of the bowlers for Sharda Cricket Club, who took 3 wickets by giving away 18 runs in his 3 overs, while Rohit Raina bagged 2 wickets. For his superb all-round show, Vinod Koul was adjudged as man of the match. He was presented the man of the match award by Ashish Kachroo, Vice President LSEHO.
