JAMMU, Oct 21: Eight cueists including Vipan Malhi, Basit Wani, Arjin Singh and Rohit Chowdhary entered the quarterfinal round in the Junior Snooker Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA), at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
In the first pre-quarterfinal match, Vipan Malhi defeated Umang Gupta by 2-0, whereas in the second game, Basit Wani registered win over Sankalp Soni by 2-0.
In the third game, Aasmi beat Akshit Sharma by 2-1, whereas in the fourth match, Kunal Jamwal got walkover against Samarth Amla.
Abhishek Mehra also got walkover against Sanand Sharma, while Arjun Singh registered win over Manik Sharma in the sixth game by 2-0.
In the seventh game, Danish Gupta beat Ragun Chowdhary by 2-0 and in the last pre-quarterfinal match, Rohit Chowdhary beat Azad Gul by 2-1.
Meanwhile, Ansh Chopra crushed Vasu Gupta by straight 3-0 frames with the score of 52-28, 54-35 and 83-10 and lifted the title trophy of the Sub Junior Snooker Championship.
The matches were being held under strict supervision of the JKBSA members and played with the rules and regulations of Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI).
The matches were officiated by Rakesh Sharma, Pawan Khajuria and Ashok.
According to JKBSA spokesman, Sub-Junior Billiards final will be played tomorrow and the last date of entries for Senior Snooker is October 24.
