JAMMU, Nov 25: Vishal Rising Stars Jammu defeated KC Sports Academy in an exhibition match of under-10 boys, which was been organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu in collaboration with KC Sports Club, Simula Sports Club and Vishal Cricket Club Jammu.
The exhibition match of by 10 boys was organized at KC Sports Club Jammu under the direction of Dr SD Singh Jamwal IGP Jammu with the objective to provide platform to the budding players of the State so that they get motivated and involved in sports at the early stage and become a good citizen and good player in near future.
Rupesh Sarvankar Former Ranji Player of Goa and Assistant Coach Goa team was the chief guest who interacted with the budding stars of Jammu and discussed many cricketing skills with the players. Budding cricketers asked so many queries about the cricket and Rupesh gave a very patient hearing to all the small players and guide them in a very proper way. All the budding cricketers felt very happy while interacting with the Goa coach.
Rajesh Gill Former Ranji Player of J&K and Organizing Secretary of the event apprised the chief guest that Zonal Police is regularly conducting cricket events on all occasions with the objective to involve all youths and kids in sports so that they may not derail from the main stream.
Meanwhile, Vishal Rising Stars batting first scored 118 runs in 12 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Ashutosh Mahajan scored a brilliant half century for his team, while Gurtaj Singh scored 27 runs, Karanveer Singh made 15 runs and Kartik Gill chipped in 10 runs.
From the bowling side, Soham, Tamnay, Rayan and Bhuwan scalped 1 wicket each.
In reply, KC Sports Academy could not chase the target and manage to score 70 runs for the loss of 3 wickets thus lost the match by 48 runs. Shoraya Manhas with 27 runs and Neel with 24 runs were the main scorers.
From the bowling side, Ashank, Karanveer and Aarav took 1 wicket each.
Ashotosh Mahajan was adjudged as Man of the Match for his half century.
The coaches of both the teams were Madan Mohan and Ashok Kumar whereas the officials of the exhibition match were Anand Tripathi, Sunil Sambyal and Vijay Kumar.
“Tomorrow, the final match of the 7th Eid Diwali Milan Cricket Cup will be played, followed by prize distribution”, informed Rajesh Gill.
