JAMMU, Apr 14: Vishal Rising Stars defeated Sehwag Cricket Academy (SCA) by 24 runs to seal berth in the semifinals of the ongoing Under-16 1st Patel Memorial T20 Invitational Cup, being played at Parade Cricket Ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, Vishal Rising Stars scored 141 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Surya was the top scorer with 56 runs, while Kamalpreet and Sachin contributed 23 and 18 runs respectively. From Sehwag Academy, Arnav, Yuvraj and Sahil took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Sehwag Cricket Academy managed to score 117 runs for the loss of 5 wickets, thus lost the match by 24 runs. Achintya was the top scorer with 41 runs, while Yuvraj and Arsh chipped in with 19 and 15 runs respectively. From Vishal Rising Stars, Sachin took 2 wickets while Ashim claimed 1 wicket. Surya was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant batting display.
The match was officiated by Vinod, Sandeep Manchanda and Rahul Kumar.
In tomorrow’s fixture, KC Juniors will face Stadium XI at 1 pm.
