JAMMU, Dec 23: Paceman Vishavjeet Singh captured 4 wickets including a hat-trick to help Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) trounce Hoshiarpur Cricket Club by 6 wickets and advance into the next round of the ongoing 3rd Police Martyrs’ Memorial T-20 Cricket Championship, being jointly organized by District Police Kathua and Shaheed Welfare Committee Kathua at Sports Stadium, here.
Earlier, Hoshiarpur was bundled out for a meagre total of 77 runs in 17 overs, while in reply JCC chased the target easily by losing 4 wickets. Vishavjeet Singh was adjudged man of the match and received a cash prize of Rs 1500 and man of the match trophy for the same.
In another match, Stadium XI Seniors Kathua defeated MCC Chandwan by 38 runs in an easy contest. Batting first, Stadium XI scored 145 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, while MCC Chandwan managed to score only 107 runs in the allotted overs, thus lost the match by 38 runs. Boon of Stadium XI Kathua was declared man of the match for taking 3 wickets and scoring 19 runs. He was awarded a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 1500 for this achievement.
