Vivrant helps Jammu enter QFs in U-16 cricket

SRINAGAR, June 1: Outplaying District Pulwama by a narrow margin of 8 runs in a close contest, District Jammu entered the Quarter Finals of the ongoing Under-16 boys cricket tournament, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, here.
Vivrant Sharma was the star performer for District Jammu, who scalped 6 important wickets to help his team script a narrow win.
Earlier, batting first, Jammu scored a modest total of 114 runs in the stipulated 16 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Abdul Samad was the top scorer with 27 runs, while Aditya Uppal contributed 25 runs to the total. Kanahya, Rahul Choudhary and Pavit Singh chipped in with 14 runs each. For Pulwama, Asif scalped 4 wickets, while Tasdeeq claimed one.
In reply, Pulwama scored 106 runs to lose the match by 8 runs. Danish, Mosin and Aquib scored 27, 19 and 14 runs respectively. For Jammu, Vivrant was the wrecker-in-chief, who bagged 6 important wickets, while Sanchit Dass claimed 2 important wickets.
