AHMEDABAD, Dec 1: Talented Southpaw Vivrant Sharma and swashbuckling opener Qamran Iqbal smashed rapid-fire centuries, while bowlers bowled with discipline as J&K crushed Mizoram by a big margin of 182 runs in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy at Narendra Modi Stadium Ground ‘A’ Motera, Ahmedabad today.
Earlier, sailing on magnificent centuries by Vivrant and Qamran, J&K scored a huge total of 332 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. Vivrant was at his murderous best and scored 144 runs off just 91 balls, studded with 14 boundaries and 8 massive sixes, while Qamran scored 116 off 134 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes.
Both the batters tore the rival bowlers with elegance and brilliance. Opener Abhinav Puri (20), Auqib Nabi (17), skipper Shubham Khajuria (10) and Lone Nasir Muzaffar (9*) also contributed to the huge total.
For Mizoram, KC Cariappa and G Lalbiakvela bagged 2 wickets each, while Mohit Jagra and Dika Ralte claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Mizoram bundled out for a paltry total of 150 runs to lose the match by 182 runs. Mohit Jangra was the only batter to show some application and promise, scoring 43 runs off 55 balls studded with 4 fours and one six, while Thankhuma was the only other batter to reach double figure mark scoring 11 runs.
For J&K, medium pacer Rasikh Salam and left-arm spinner Abid Mushtaq took 3 wickets each while Lone Nasir Muzaffar bagged 2 wickets and Auqib Nabi claimed one.
