JAMMU, Jan 6: VJCA Delhi and Shabi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur registered convincing victories over their rivals to advance in the ongoing 4th Police Martyrs’ Memorial North Zone T20 Cricket Tournament at District Sports Stadium, Kathua.
Earlier, VJCA defeated Khalsa Cricket Club Jammu by 37 runs in an easy contest. Batting first, VJCA scored a good total of 149 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process.
In reply, Khalsa Cricket Club bundled out for 112 runs in 18.5 overs, thus lost the match by 37 runs. Vikas Mishra was adjudged man of the match and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 1500 alongwith a trophy.
In another match, Shabi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur got better of Amritsar Sports Club by 4 wickets. Put into bat, Amritsar Sports Club scored 130 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.
In reply, Shabi CC chased the target in 17.4 overs by losing 6 wickets, thus winning the match by 4 wickets. Tarun of Shabi CC was declared man of the match for his brilliant performance. He was presented a cash prize of Rs 1500 and man of the match trophy.
