SRINAGAR, Sept 13: In an endeavour to enhance the employment avenues for the youth, the Army concluded fifteen days long vocational training course in welding today, a defence spokesman said.
He said the vocational welding course was conducted by army at Somgarh Military Station under the aegis of Chinar Corps. “The training classes provided ample practical exposure to the youth, wherein they learned the know-how of basics types of metal, metal compatibility, safety and current for each type of metal as well as the finer nuances of temperature control for different metals and criticality of measurement,” he said.
The spokesman said that the youth realized the significance of having acquired such skills, especially in Kashmir, where higher education is still oblivious to many.
On completion of the vocational course, these youth interacted with Chinar Corps Commander Lt General SK Dua and brought out as to how the course would be helpful in multiplying the employment.
The General Officer congratulated these young men on successfully completion of training and wished them a bright future. He also presented the group with a welding machine and repairing accessories so that these youth could commence a new venture.
