VOJ, Powergrid observe Vigilance Awareness Week

JAMMU, Nov 2: In connection with observance of “Vigilance Awareness Week”, a programme on the theme “My Vision Corruption Free India” was organized by UDKR wing of Vigilance Organization Jammu (VOJ) in the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur while Powergrid organized an Integrity e- pledge camp at the holy town of Katra.
Ravinder Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur was the chief guest on the occasion. During the programme, the participants were made to understand about importance of Vigilance Awareness Week. The speakers emphasized on the need for preventive vigilance and made the participants aware of the existing measures that can bring about this from the gross root level.
During the deliberations, the stress was laid for eradication of corruption from the society at gross root level for the prosperity and development of the country as a whole. The officers/officials of the concerned departments were stressed upon to affirm the commitment to continue their struggle for eradication of the corruption.
A Power Point presentation prepared by the UDKR wing of VOJ was displayed to throw light on the theme of this year “My Vision Corruption Free India”. The programme ended with a pledge of integrity to initiate the process of eradication of corruption.
Prominent among those who attended the programme were Subash Dogra, ADC Udhampur, Suram Chand Sharma, General Manager, DIC Udhampur, Ashok Kumar Sharma, XEn PHE and Ashok Kumar Verma, District Agricultural Officer, Udhampur.
Meanwhile, as a part of its outreach activity during Vigilance Awareness Week, Powergrid organized an Integrity e- pledge camp at the holy town of Katra wherein thousands of visitors including senior Government officials, local residents of Katra and pilgrims from outside were made aware on various facets of Integrity and honesty and evils of corruption.
Visitors to the camp took the Integrity e-pledge through the portal of Central Vigilance Commission. POWERGRID had made special arrangements in the camp for the general public to take this e-pledge in a smooth manner. Pamphlets and reading material on the burning issue of corruption were also distributed among the general public.
