UDHAMPUR, Feb 18: A 3-day Zonal Inter OPS Groups Centers and Battalions Games Competition 2013 for volley ball Tournament commenced today conducted by 137 Bn of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at SRTC Complex here today.
Commandant, 187 Bn CRPF, Manoj Kumar Sharma was the chief guest and formally inaugurated the tournament.
As many as 15 teams belongs from Jammu based units of CRPF including one team of Group Centre Bantalab Jammu took part in the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said that the tournament had been organized to expose the sports talent of Jawans of CRPF in the field of volleyball. Besides provide an opportunity to make them entertained through the medium of games.
Later, Commandant, 187Bn has declared tournament open. On first day of the tournament inaugural match was played between 187 Bn verses 76 Bn teams.
The matches were officiated by referee of District Youth Services and Sports Department, Udhampur, Sanjay Sharma and Naveen Sharma.
Among others, Commandant 137 Bn, Mukesh Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commandant, 137 Bn, Nirmal Singh, Assistant Commandant, 137 Bn, K P Sudha, senior officers and jawans were present on the occasion.
