Jammu, Nov 8: Continuing its endeavor to educate voters about their right to vote under Systematic Voters Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP), District Election Office Jammu organized a mega voter’s awareness camp at Jammu Club where hundreds of people participated.
In the camp people were sensitized about importance of vote and urged them to ensure their participation in coming Assembly elections in Jammu District scheduled to be held at December 20. People were also advised to visit their respective polling station for on spot enrollment on November 9, where they can register themselves in the voter list.
All BLOs will be available at the polling station from 10 am to 4 pm and the latest electoral roll will be displayed at the polling station. For on-spot enrollment two passport size photographs, ration card copy and ID card is required. One can also check his/her name in the voter list simply by an SMS in the following manner JNKERM<space>STATUS<space>10 Digit Epic No.
The experts from the office of the Assistant Commissioner Development Jammu demonstrated the handling of Electronic Voting Machines and also made available online registration of voters, correction, addition, deletion and manual filling of form No. 6 for registration of new voters.
A signature campaign was also launched in which most of the people participated and  pledged to vote on December 20. DEO Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu also participated in Signature Campaigning. ACD Jammu, Suram C. Sharma, B.D.O Mathwar M.L. Tasir were also present.
