Vriddhi Royals lifts cricket title

JAMMU, Oct 25: Scripting resounding victory over Elite Tigers in the summit clash, Vriddhi Royals lifted the title trophy of the Col RN Chopra Challenge Cup Under-16 Cricket Tournament, her today.
Winning the toss and batting first, Vriddhi Royals scored 148 runs in 30.2 overs. Harsh Singh, Shavac Makin and Pawandeep scored 55, 25 and 24 runs resepctively.
For Elite Tigers, Utkarsh Pandita took 4 important wickets, while Aquib and Brigu took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Elite Tigers were all out for 130 runs in 30.3 overs. Anmol scored 32 runs, Yuvraj and Sachin contributed 29 and 18 runs respectively. For Vriddhi Royals, Vasu took 4 wickets and Tegvansh, Abhay and Aditya claimed 2 wickets each.
The prizes were distributed by the chief guest, Ranjeet Kalra, Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs Government of Lakshadweep, while Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Trophy player was the guest of honour.
Man of the match was awarded to Vasu Sharma of Vriddhi Royals, while Shivam Koul and Uttkrash Pandita were adjudged as the best batsman and best bowler respectively. Aquib Rather was declared as the man of the tournament.
On the occasion the chief guest appreciated the effort of the organizers for conducting such type of tournaments to give fillip to sports in the State.
The officials were Deepak Singh, Pankaj and Sujit.
The tournament was organised under the supervision of Sukomal Ganguly.
