JAMMU, Oct 19: Sarwant Singh Gill has been appointed as the Technical Director of Vansh Sabre Sports Foundation (VSSF), as announced by J&K Secretary, Kuldeep Kumar Gupta.
A National Institute of Sports (NIS) qualified coach (1985-86), Gill is a retired Deputy Commandant from BSF. He holds a longstanding record in the 110m high hurdles for Jammu & Kashmir and is also the Associate Residency Secretary and Technical Director of the J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association. His extensive experience includes roles as a National Technical Official (NTO) at the 12th South Asian Games (2016) and several national and international cycling events, including the 2024 Asian Track Cycling Championships. He is also a member of the Athlete Commission of the Cycling Federation of India till 2027.
