Vth batch of trekkers flagged off

JAMMU, May 25: The Vth batch comprising of 24 trekkers including 8 female from different parts of country mostly hailing from Gujarat, Maharashtra , Haryana, Delhi and MP participating in 7th National Heritage Trek Expedition being organized by Youth Hostels Association of India J&K State Branch in collaboration with Udhampur Administration, was flagged off today.
The batch included some of the most travelled and experienced trekkers of the country of varied age group from 25 years to 60 years of age.
The first batch have reached its last camp at Mantalai today, whereas 2nd batch reached Patnitop , IIIrd batch reached Sanasar and the IVth batch reached Lander and Vth batch reported Pancheri camp today.
Total 138 trekkers so far have reached on trek of J&K State from various parts of India.
The trek will cover the areas with Udhampur as the Base Camp, Krimchi temples of heritage importance. First night halt at Pancheri Forests with rich flora and fauna on way to 2nd night halt at Lander, 3rd night halt at Sanasar a beautiful meadow with a lake in the centre and perched with Fur forests on all sides is also a hub for Para-droppers. Passing through Natha Top with barren hills and high velocity winds giving a varied experience to the trekkers, 5th night at the world famous tourist resort of Patnitop in thick Deodar forest; 6th night halt at Mantalai where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parwati were married via Gauri Kund where Goddess Parwati used to worship Lord Shiva and Sudh Mahadev where the lord Shiva killed the Demon who was chasing Goddess Parwati. On 7th day morning the trekkers will be taken by bus to base camp Udhampur and will be dispersed after evaluation and receiving certificates.
