JKCA’s Talent Hunt trials in full swing across J&K

JAMMU, May 7: The vying aspirants sweated-it-out in scorching heat and were busy in giving their best by showing serenity, composure and promise to get the selectors nod on day-2 of JKCA’s historic Talent Hunt trials underway at various venues across the Union Territory.
As per the reports received from the Talent Hunt teams, the aspirants showed high spirit and great enthusiasm in showcasing their skill and talent.
Apart from the yesterday’s attendance, more cricketers, both boys and girls, turned up for the trials at almost all the selected venues across the UT.
It is pertinent to mention here that a total of 1068 boys and girls from Kashmir province and 973 boys and girls from Jammu province took part in these first of its kind Talent hunt trials on Day-1 and Day-2.
“It brings an ecstatic feeling to observe overwhelming response of the budding cricketers towards Talent Hunt trials. We are committed to provide a transparent system and it is the players and the officials to make judicious use of the same. We are hopeful that JKCA gets raw talent even from the remotest areas, which can be moulded by providing proper platform and ample opportunity”, said Brig Anil Gupta while expressing satisfaction over the conduct of JKCA’s Talent Hunt Camp.
Mithun Manhas, Member Cricket Operations and Development JKCA said that the BCCI’s Sub Committee in association with JKCA’s Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) named the First Class cricketers of repute for taping talent across the Union Territory.
“To identify talented boys and girls out of a big number of cricketers is not everybody’s cup of tea. That is why we have nominated top cricketers of J&K to do the job”, Manhas added.
Meanwhile, Member Legal Affairs JKCA, Advocate Sunil Sethi said that their job was to provide adequate infrastructural facilities and quality platform to the cricketers and it was upto them to grab the opportunity with both hands.
A group of cricketers who were part of the Talent Hunt trials while lavishing praise on the organisers said that they deserve salutation for this first of its kind initiative to tap the talent at the grass-root level.
