Walmart stores pledge to keep environment clean, green

JAMMU, July 13: In line with its pledge to keep the environment clean and green, Best Price Modern Wholesale Stores of Bharti Walmart Private Ltd, organized a series of cleaning and green activities across eight major states in India-Andhra Pradesh, Chhatishgarh, J&K, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
In an exemplary display of civil society coming forward to promote environment sustainability, 994 associates and 2582 members of 17 Best Price Modern Wholesale stores cleaned and planted saplings in and around the vicinity of the stores and the neighbouring parks in 17 cities across these eight states.
As a part of the campaign, members and associates of Best Price Modern Wholesale stores removed 2794 kg of debris and planted 2582 saplings. Furthermore, 2127 saplings were distributed from the stores to members to carry forward the drive. The drive was organised as part of Bharti Wlamart’s initiative to make the community environmentally conscious.
In Jammu, 25 associates and 40 members of Best Price Modern Wholesale stores cleaned and planted saplings in and around the vicinity of the stores and in the neighbouring parks, where 110 kg of debris was removed and 150 saplings were planted.
