JAMMU, Mar 10: Water supply in most parts of the City and surroundings has been badly affected during the past two days and there was no sigh of relief even tomorrow due to erratic electricity supply to PHE feeders at various places.
PHE Superintending Engineer Sunil Gupta said water supply remained affected in the City and surroundings during past two days due to prolonged power cuts. He said the electricity supply would also remain affected even tomorrow.
Mr Gupta said the PHE feeders were facing major disruptions in power supply during the day time as well as in the night due to power cuts and disruptions caused by the winds.
He added that power supply would be affected tomorrow as well and requested the people to co-operate and use water judiciously.
People in several parts of Jammu were going without water supply causing them enormous inconvenience.
People said that even water tankers have not been pressed into service by the PHE Department.
They appealed to the Department to restore water supply immediately.
