JAMMU, Oct 17: Wave Cricket Club crushed Zaira Cricket Club in the quarterfinal of the ongoing Diwali Cup to seal berth in the semifinals at Railway ground, here today.
Winning the toss and batting first, Wave Cricket Club rode on brilliant centuries by Gourav (120) Yawar (129) to score a big total. From Zaira Cricket Club, Atif and Shahid took 1 wicket each.
In reply Zaira Cricket Club players failed to execute and lost the match by a huge margin. Asad top scored with 25 runs, while Tallah contributed 15 runs to the total. From Wave Cricket Club, Monu took a brilliant hat-trick in the very first over of the innings, while Brijesh took Gourav also took 2 wickets each.
Gourav was declared as the man of the match.
The tournament is being organised by Balbir Singh of Trikuta Cricket Academy.
