JAMMU, July 2: Wave Cricket Club and Club and Yankees Cricket Club registered victories in the ongoing Chevrolet Cricket Cup 2014 tournament sponsored by KC Motors Jammu and being played at KC Public School ground adjacent to KC Sports Club.
Wave Cricket Club defeated Friends Cricket Club by 5 wickets. Friends CC opted to bat first and scored of 158/5 in 20 overs. Sonu scored 57 runs in 41 balls, Raju contributed 27 in 28 balls and KK contributed 23 runs in 19 balls. Parmeet Singh took 2 wickets for Wave CC and Simran, KD Singh and Charanjit Singh claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Wave CC reached the target in 17.1 overs by losing 5 wickets to win the match by 5 wickets. KD Singh batted brilliantly and scored 75 runs, hitting 3 massive sixes apart from galaxy of boundaries. Arun Sharma and Charanjit Singh added 32 and 17 runs respectively. Raju took 3 wickets for 16 runs for Friends CC and Manik took 1 wicket for 27 runs. KD Singh of Wave CC was declared man of the match. Officials of the match were Sadiq Hussain Malik, Rajinder Singh and Sohail Yusuf.
In another match, Yankees CC got better of Chelsia Club in an easy contest. Chelsia CC decided to bat first and scored 138 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Sunny Parihar, Deepak and Sunny Bhan scored 33, 26 and 24 runs each. For Yankees, Romil took 2 wickets and Bharat, Shiv Dutt, Jerry and Kapil shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Yankees CC wrapped up the match quickly with Hitanshu and Akash scoring 58 and 38 runs respectively for their side. Vineet Raina claimed 2 wickets and Sunny Parihar took 1 wicket for Chelsia. Yankees CC won the match by 7 wickets. Hitanshu of Yankees CC was declared man of the match for his quick knock of 58 runs off 41 balls. Sadiq Hussain Malik, Rajinder Singh and Sohail Yusuf were the officials of the match.
