JAMMU, Dec 7: Registering twin victories, the teams from West Bengal, Manipur, Haryana, Kerala and Maharashtra dominated the Day-2 proceedings and almost certainly have sealed berth in the last 16 stage, while J&K suffered a defeat by Manipur in the ongoing 68th National School Games (NSG) U-17 Girls Football Championship, being organised by Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (YSS), under the auspices of School Games Federation of India (SGFI) at Sainik School Nagrota here.
In matches played today, West Bengal defeated Chhattisgarh by three goals to nil (3-0), Maharashtra got better of Arunachal Pradesh by two goals to one (2-1), CBSE WSO trounced Vidya Bharti by two goals to one (2-1), Manipur drubbed CISCE by two goals to one (2-1), Odisha crushed Uttar Pradesh by 12 goals to nil (12-0), J&K held IBSO to (6-6) draw, Assam held Jharkhand to (1-1) draw, Kerala outplayed Delhi by two goals to nil (2-0), Haryana blanked DNHDD by ten goals to nil (10-0), Gujarat defeated Karnataka by four goals to nil (4-0), Punjab thrashed NVS by four goals to nil (4-0), Rajasthan crushed Andhra Pradesh by twelve goals to nil (12-0), Tamil Nadu trounced Chandigarh by three goals to nil (3-0), KVS outplayed Madhya Pradesh by two goals to one (2-1), Manipur drubbed CISCE by two goals to one (2-1), Punjab prevailed over NVS by eight goals to nil (8-0), Uttarakhand blanked Ladakh by nine goals to nil (9-0), Chhattisgarh defeated CBSE WSO by eight goals to nil (8-0), Tripura got the better of IPSC by three goals to one (3-1), Telangana beat Vidya Bharati by four goals to nil (4-0), Maharashtra crushed Uttar Pradesh by eleven goals to nil (11-0), Manipur blanked J&K by ten goals to nil (10-0), Odisha trounced Arunachal Pradesh by two goals to one (2-1), NVS beat DNHDD by two goals to one (2-1), Haryana beat Punjab by four goals to nil (4-0), Andhra Pradesh defeated Karnataka by three goals to one (3-1), Rajasthan beat Gujarat by two goals to one (2-1), Tamil Nadu thrashed Madhya Pradesh by seven goals to one (7-1) and KVS beat Chandigarh by three goals to nil (3-0).
Meanwhile, as part of the historic series of 68th NSG in four sports disciplines, the mega soccer event is being held under the patronage of Minister for Sports, Satish Sharma; Secretary YSS, Sarmad Hafeez and under the chairmanship of Director General YSS, Rajinder Singh Tara.
