JAMMU, Oct 1: Registering resounding wins over their rivals, Whites Cricket Club (WCC) and Kongposh Cricket Club advanced in the ongoing Ist Tikalal Taploo Inter-State Koshur Cricket Tournament, being organized by Koushur Cricket Club, New Delhi at various places in Delhi and adjoining areas.
Earlier, in the first match, electing to bat first after winning the toss against Sharda team, WCC scored a decent total of 166 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Akshay top scored with quick-fire 39 runs off just 13 balls with the help of 3 boundaries and 2 sixes, while Rahul, Ravi Pandita, Rockey and Vinit contributed 35, 32, 26 and 25 runs to the total respectively. For Sharda team, Salman scalped 2 wickets, while Amit Pandita claimed one.
In reply, Sharda team managed to score 99 runs to lose the match by 67 runs. Sonu Sharma scored 33 with 4 boundaries, while Vikas and Vinood Tickoo contributed 18 and 11 runs to the total respectively. Ravi and Akshay took 2 wickets each for WCC, while Akshay claimed one.
In another match played at Nehru Stadium, Gaziabad, Kongposh Club thrashed Cricket Club in Exile (CCE) by a huge margin of 97 runs.
Batting first, Kongposh Club, scored a mammoth total of 181 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Aman Zutshi was the top scorer with a brilliant 58 runs, studded with 7 fours, while Kuldeep Tickoo contributed well made 45 runs and Nasir scored 15. Sanjay scalped 3 wickets for CCE, while Vinod claimed 2.
CCE reply, collapsed at 84 runs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 97 runs. Aseem (35) and Sushant (18) were the main contributors. For Kongposh Club, Sudhir Peshin and Aman Taneja claimed 3 wickets each, while Kuldeep Tickoo took 2.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Kumar, Rawat, Zait and Ashiq.
