We want century from Sachin in both Tests: Yogeshwar, Amit

New Delhi, Nov 5: As Sachin Tendulkar’s illustrious career draws to an end, Olympian wrestlers Yogeshwar Dutt and Amit Kumar Dahiya want the retiring Indian batsman to enthral the cricket-crazy nation by scoring centuries in his final two Tests.

Tendulkar will bring the curtains down on his illustrious 24-year-long career with the two-Test series against the West Indies, beginning tomorrow at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Tendulkar will play his 200th Test at home — the Wankhede Stadium — in Mumbai from November 14 to 18.

“He has given this country and its people so much that is beyond imagination. His achievements in cricket speak for him. It’s a big loss to the world cricket. We will miss his presence on the cricket field,” Yogeshwar told PTI.

“It would be a sad day for all of us when he will walk on to the field for one last time during the Wankhede Test. I would like to see him score centuries in both the Tests. He should make the series memorable for every cricket-loving Indian,” said the London Olympic bronze medallist.

In a controversy free career, Tendulkar has been the most worshipped cricketer who has against his name, almost all the batting records including most runs and hundreds in international cricket. (PTI)
