JAMMU, Nov 27: In protest against the BJP for not giving mandate to its candidates in the ongoing DDC and Panchayat elections, West Pak refugees fielded their own candidate for Sarwal Panchayat constituency, in Pargwal area today.
This was stated by Labha Ram Gandhi, president West Pak Refugees in a statement here. He said the organization has fielded Sukhdev Singh Manhas as Sarpanch in Panchayat Halqa, Sarwal in Pargwal area of Jammu district.
Gandhi said the decision was taken as the BJP did not consider the refugees request to field some candidates among the West Pak refugees in the ongoing DDC elections. He said the refugees are with the Narendra Modi Government and fully back him and Home Minister Amit Shah. “We will back BJP in Lok Sabha polls but decided to field the candidates from our organisation after BJP local leadership did not consider our request to field some of its candidates in the ongoing elections”, he added.
