JAMMU, Aug 30: The Western Air Command Inter Air Force Schools Badminton Championship 2015-16 for girls was conducted at Air Force School, here today.
Five Air Force Schools of Western Air Command namely Air Force School Sarsawa, Air Force School Hindan, Air Force School Chandigarh, Air Force School Pathankot and Air Force School Jammu participated in the three day long championship.
Air Force School Hindan won the Championship whereas Air Force School Chandigarh and Air Force School Sarsawa claimed second and third spots respectively.
Group Captain AK Yadav, Station Commander, Air Force Station, Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, who appreciated the sportsmanship and enthusiasm shown by the students during the tournament.
He reiterated that sports provide an excellent pathway for students to develop mental strength, camaraderie and competitive spirit. Risha Goel of Air Force School Hindan was adjudged as the best player of the tournament.
