Western Command Cross Country organised

JAMMU, May 5: Western Command Cross Country was conducted on under Kharga Corps at 14 Gorkha Training Centre (Shimla Hills), Subathu, here.
Fifteen teams of Western Command participated in a well contested event, which tested their endurance and determination. The run covered the distance of 12 km mountainous and plain terrain traversing through pristine terrain of Shimla Hills.
Ninety athletes participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Event was aimed to make the soldier aware of his innate potential and capabilities and to foster endurance, camaraderie and team spirit.
Participants were felicitated by the General Officer Commanding Kharga Corps and the best runner was Rifleman Manveer Chand of 13 Garhwal Rifles.
The rolling Western Command Cross Country trophy was presented to Charging Ram Division.
The General Officer Commanding Kharga Corps applauded  the athletes for displaying enthusiasm and sportsman spirit during the event.
