White Knights, Ridhima Chess emerge leaders after 4 rounds

JAMMU, Dec 8: White Knights and Ridhima Chess emerged leaders after 4 rounds of the ongoing Chess Premier League at Press Club, here today.
Both the teams have 3.5 points each while Queen and Knight with 3 points is closely following the leaders with 3 points.
5 more rounds will be played in this event which is played as per International FIDE Laws of chess.
It was very thrilling to see 6-year old kids playing with 75-year old persons, which one can witness only in the game of chess.
Nine teams comprising of 63 players from 15 districts of J&K are participating in this event.
The players from far flung areas such as Kupwara district are also participating in this event.
Earlier, Dr AS Bhatia HoD Bio Sciences GMC inaugurated the 2nd round alongwith Kuljeet singh Jamwal, chief organizer of this League. 3rd round was inaugurated by Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Chairman Team Jammu alongwith DySP Raj Kumar, while the 4th round was inaugurated by Taranvir Singh Gujral alongwith Baldev Raj, both vice presidents of AJKCA.
All the matches are being officiated by Anil Kotwal and Bindu Pathania, under the overall supervision of Atul Kumar Gupta, President ‘All J&K Chess Association’.
Vikas Nanda and Rakesh Gupta were present during the matches.
It is pertinent to mention here that the participating teams include Chess Champs (Owner Taranvir Singh Gujral), Chess Tigers (Owner Kuljeet Singh Jamwal), Jammu Chess Legends (Owner Baldev Raj), Kings and Queens (Owner Dr AS Bhatia), Queen and Knight (Owner Raj Kumar), Black and white (Owner Vikas Nanda), White Knights (Owners Atul Kumar Gupta and Rakesh Kumar Gupta), Trikuta Wizards (Owner Tarunveer Singh Bijral), Ridhima Chess (Owner-Ajay Sharma). Chief organizer of this event is Kuljeet Singh Jamwal.
Anil Kotwal is chief arbiter of this event and he is being assisted by Bindu Pathania, deputy arbiter.
