White Knights, Ridhima Chess maintain lead

JAMMU, Dec 9: White Knights and Ridhima Chess maintained joint lead after 7 rounds of ongoing Chess Premier league at Press Club, here today.
Both the teams have 5 points each while Queen and Knight with 4.5 points is closely following the leaders. 2 more rounds will be played in this event which is played as per International FIDE Laws of Chess.
63 players from 15 districts of J&K are participating in this event.
The players from far flung areas such as Kupwara district are also participating in this event. In today’s matches Blind Player Suresh Choudhary who is also Govt. Employee also participated in League and played with a Normal player.
AJKCA President Atul Kumar Gupta and all the members of the Association appreciated the guts of the blind player to challenge a normal player.
Earlier Joint Secretary AJKCA Vikas Nanda and Dr Sumeet Sabharwal inaugurated the 5th round. The 6th round was inaugurated by Rakesh Gupta and Dr Vikas Abrol while Dr Narita Jamwal and Professor Mrs Piyush Abrol inaugurated the 7th round.
The matches are being officiated by Anil Kotwal and Bindu Pathania in the overall supervision of Atul Kumar Gupta, President “All J&K Chess Association”. Kuljeet Singh Jamwal is the chief organizer of this League.
