UDHAMPUR, Apr 30: In connection with murder of a young man at the house of his in-laws, Police have arrested wife of the deceased and her two women family members.
The deceased, identified as Sunny, son of Billa of Khereni Omara in Udhampur, was found murdered in a field near the house of his in-laws at Sui village, last evening.
According to DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Garib Dass, wife of the deceased namely Neelu Devi, her sister Lakshi Devi and sister-in law Neeru Devi (wife of Neelu’s brother) were taken into custody for questioning and the trio confessed to have murdered the youth by beating him with sticks.
There was some matrimonial dispute between the husband and his wife and the latter had already filed a civil suit against the former in the court of law, the DIG informed. During questioning, Neelu Devi claimed that she was used to be harassed by her husband on petty issues.
However, police is investigating the case taking into consideration all the aspects and from all angles so as to ascertain facts and reveal the entire conspiracy behind the killing.
An FIR in this connection has already been registered at Police Station Udhampur and Incharge SSP Benam Tosh along with SHO Deepak Jasrotia is investigating the case.
