KATHUA, Sept 22: A police constable was hospitalized after his second wife Shamima threw acid on him at his residence in village Cholok near Bani today.
The constable identified as Mohammed Din was shifted to GMC for treatment where his eye is stated to have been damaged.
The cause of Shamim’s action could not be ascertained as yet. Police said Mohammed Din had two wives and he had abandoned his first wife Irshada and was living with Shamima for quite some time now. However today Shamima under mysterious circumstances threw acid over his husband and he was taken to local hospital where from doctors referred him to GMC Jammu for treatment.
A case under section 326 has been registered in Police Station Bani and police has started investigation.
