JAMMU, Oct 4: During the ongoing Wildlife week, Department of Wildlife Protection organised symposium and cultural programme competitions at Sudhmahadev.
Students from various schools participated in symposium on “Wildlife Conservation”, and expressed their views.
In his inaugural address, Wildlife Warden Jammu, Tahir Shawl highlighted the importance of celebrating wildlife week and sustainable conservation of natural resources.
RS Chowhan, Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Sudhmahadev, stressed upon the students and locals to shun the practice of killing wild animals, destruction of forests and habitat of wild animals.
In symposium Junior standard, Sonali Verma of class 8th of Krishan Academy Sudhmahadev, Kajal of class 7th of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Sudhmahadev and Rehan Fasial of class 5th of Government Middle School, Bachhal secured first second and third positions respectively, whereas, in senior standard, Radhika Sharma of class 11th and Muneeshwar Sharma of class 9th of GHSS, Sudhmahadev shared first position, while, Simran Verma of class 10th of GHSS, Sudhmahadev claimed second prize. The third prize was shared by Tanik of class 10th and Najamtulla of class 9th of GHSS, Sudhmahadev.
In Cultural Programme competition, Krishan Memorial Academy, Sudhmahadev, GHSS, Sudhmahadev and Government High School, Mantalai, claimed first, second and third positions respectively.
Government High School, Mantalai, Government Middle School, Kohsar, Government Middle School, Katwalt and Government Middle School, Bachhal, were conferred consolation prizes.
