JAMMU, Oct 7: In connection with Wildlife Week Celebration, an impressive programme was organized by the Wildlife Protection Department, Jammu at Gharana Conservation Reserve, here.
The programme included debate and painting competition in which students drawn from various schools participated.
Kapil Khajuria, Naib Tehsildar Chakroi, was the chief guest on the occasion, who while speaking laid stress upon involvement of local communities, students and allied youth for maintaining ecological balance and the conservation of Gharana and adjoining wetlands.
Wildlife Warden, Sayed Ahmed and Dr Rajeev Manhas, VAS Manda, Jammu also spoke on the occasion.
Vijay Singh, Range Officer presented vote of thanks, while among others present on the occasion were Sarpanchs Sham Lal and Prabhat Sharma and Panch Satya Devi.
Neeraj Singh, Anjali Sharma and Amit Chowdhary bagged first three positions in painting competition, while the consolation prizes went to Anvi Chowdhary and Rohit Singh.
Meanwhile, in debate competition, the first three positions went to Jasbir Singh, Mansi Chowdhary and Tanvi Chowdhary respectively, while the consolation prizes went to Sneha Kumari and Sheeta Verma.
