RAMBAN/KATHUA, Apr 17: Former MP and Congress candidate from Kathua-Udhampur-Doda constituency, Ch Lal Singh today claimed that Congress Party will withdraw Agniveer Scheme for the recruitment in Army for soldiers and implement Old Pensions Scheme if the party comes to power.
Addressing public rallies in Banihal area of district Ramban, Changa in Bhaderwah in district Doda and Patyari in district Kathua on the last day of the election campaign in Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency today, Ch Lal Singh said that Congress Party is committed to withdraw Agniveer Scheme as implemented by the Modi Government. He said there is strong resentment among the youth of J&K and the country against it. The party is committed to withdraw the scheme.
Referring to the another commitment of the Congress Party, Ch Lal Singh said that Old Pension Scheme will be implemented if the party comes to power. As declared in the manifesto, the party will provide Rs one lakh to the poor women of the country. He said development, peace and prosperity is the commitment of the party and Congress believes in honouring commitments and not makes hollow slogans like BJP.
Ch Lal Singh said that youth of the country and specially from J&K are the most dejected and frustrated. For the last over ten years, the BJP and its proxy government in J&K has failed to provide jobs to the educated youth. He said youth, daily wagers and employees will be his priority if he comes to power. The BJP badly failed in providing jobs and the employment to the people. When they are mandated to power, they forget the entire issues of the people.
Former MP lambasted the BJP Government on the loot and selling of the entire resources to the outsiders. He claimed that big Corporate Houses are the priority of BJP government and not the poor and lower middle class people. Singh asked the people to check the rates of the toll plazas. He said local BJP leaders should explain why this is happening with the people of J&K. Now because the proxy Government of BJP could not deliver on the ground, that’s why the J&K BJP leadership is requesting the Central leaders to campaign in J&K. Their surrender dismayed and disappointed people of J&K besides exposing their hollow and false commitment to their slogans always used by them to hoodwink the people.
Congress leader lambasted the local BJP leadership and alleged that instead of focusing on matters confronting the people of Jammu region in the last ten years, they are now trying to deceive people by raising non-issues and diverting their attention from unemployment, poor delivery and sidelining of the employees of J&K.
