JAMMU, Sept 25: Senior Congress leader and party candidate from Marh constituency today declared that political landscape in Jammu and Kashmir is shifting, and the “winds of change” are blowing across the region.
Speaking during election meetings at Parayal, Jhiri, and Dabbay, Mula Ram criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its governance, questioning why Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior leaders from Delhi are camped in Jammu and Kashmir if they have accomplished significant progress.
“If the BJP had truly done a lot for Jammu and Kashmir, there would be no need for such a heavy presence from Delhi. The time has come for a change,” Mula Ram said.
He confidently predicted that the Congress party, in alliance with the National Conference (NC), will form the next government, emphasizing a commitment to development across all three regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Congress leader also addressed the issue of what he termed “Gabbar tax,” referring to the taxes imposed by the current administration.
He promised that burdens would be rolled back to Delhi, assuring residents of a more supportive and development-focused governance.
The meetings attracted considerable attention, as Mula Ram’s rhetoric resonated with a populace eager for change.
He emphasized that Congress is the only party capable of fostering true development and unity among the diverse regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Congress party’s focus on local issues and development could be pivotal in swaying public opinion in its favour, Mula Ram said.
He called for unity between Congress and the National Conference suggests a strategic alliance that may further bolster their position against the BJP.
Indian Youth Congress president, Uday Bhanu Chib also addressed the gathering and attacked BJP for its wrong policies in Jammu and Kashmir.
Madan Lal Bhagat, former Block Development Council (BDC) Member from Phallain Mandal, sought support for Congress candidate Mula Ram.
Local leaders such as Neha Bhagat, Sunny, Jeet Choudhary, Darshan Bhagat, Bal Krishan, Saudager Saini, Col Som Nath Dogra, Sat Pal Saini, Dr Virender Lakhotra, Balkar Singh, Rattan Sharma and Bittu Rampal were also present.
