Woes of Shiv Vihar Trilokpur

This is to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the insanitary woes of residents of Shiv Vihar Trilokpur. The residents have been facing long pending drainage issue that has been an headache for the residents of the colony specially during the monsoon when water gets clogged in the lanes. The Colony is also beset with the issue of fluctuations of electricity due to heavy load on the current transformer. It was also informed that an additional transformer has been issued to the colony however due to incompetence of the Electricity Department the same is not getting installed. The residents have been paying electricity fee from time to time but are not getting good voltage which is a major concern during summer. The other issue that the residents are facing is that of improper maintenance of street lights due to which it becomes difficult to go out of the house in the evening as you can barely see anything.

Construction of new bridges near SDM Jammu South office
It is requested that there is a dire need of construction of new bridges on Balol Nallah near SDM Jammu South office, Gadi Garh (Jammu) as both the bridges connecting Rohi Morh, Gadi Garh and other areas were damaged and are in a dilapidated condition due to floods in the month of August 2020. They are not in a condition to be used for plying of vehicles, yet they are used by the locals for approaching to Naib Tehsildar, Tehsildar, Jammu South and SDM Jammu South offices for routine work at their own risk of life and property as they have not been closed by the concerned department till date. The attention of the authorities concerned is drawn for construction of new bridges in place to avoid any untoward incident.

Construct Park at Laxmipuram Chinore
This is to draw the attention of the concerned authorities that there is a dry ditch and vast area of about 12 kanals of land which can be converted into a good park for the public of the area. This chunk of land falls in Ward No. 62, Laxmipuram Pattain Talab Chinore. If the land is left unclaimed there is every apprehension of the land mafia grabbing it for commercial purpose. It will be in the interest of the public if it is developed into a Recreational park. It will not only enhance beauty of the area, but will be a source of recreation for the public of the area.
Hope the authorities would consider this suggestion at the earliest.

Check matador/bus noise pollution
I am writing to bring to your attention a pressing concern that has been affecting the daily lives of many residents in our community.
Recently, it has come to our notice that the loudspeaker systems installed in several public buses and matadors operating in our region have been causing severe discomfort to commuters due to their excessive volume.
The issue is twofold. Firstly, the loudness of these speakers is causing distress and inconvenience to passengers, often startling them during their journeys. Secondly, the noise pollution generated by these excessively loud speakers is affecting the peace and tranquility of our neighborhoods.
To overcome this ordeal, we hope to encourage the following actions:
Volume Regulation: We request the transportation authorities to establish and enforce guidelines for the maximum volume of loudspeakers on public vehicles, ensuring that they are set at levels that are both audible and comfortable for passengers.
Regular Monitoring: Authorities should conduct regular checks and audits to ensure that public transportation vehicles comply with the prescribed volume limits.
Public Awareness: Publish articles and editorials that inform the public about their rights regarding noise pollution and encourage them to report instances of excessive loudspeaker volume.
Complaint Mechanism: Advocate for the establishment of a simple and efficient complaint mechanism that allows passengers to report instances of excessive noise on public transportation.
We believe that by addressing this issue collectively, we can improve the quality of life for residents in our community and enhance the overall commuting experience.

Erratic power supply in Swarn Vihar
Time and again as deliberated upon by the Electric Deptt that by installation of Smart meters the power supply will remain regular with no cuts in the localities where the scheme is ratified. It is a matter of concern that despite the Govt’s directions and deliberations the power supply goes disrupted in these localities in hot summer days.
As such people suffer in many ways. The power cuts hamper water supply that compounds hygenic health hazards to the people. The power brakes add to the sufferings of old people and irks children. Power brakes during the night of summer can lead to increasing number of anti-social activities. So far as our colony Swaran Vihar is concerned the colony is fully metered one since long but one is constrained to mention that we face regular power cuts in the colony.
Residents of the Colony pay regular power tariff which is in record with the Deptt. The installation of smart meters must justify Govts narrative i.e 24×7 Power supply to the people during the hot summer. The situation on the ground today is erratic. It needs proper attention.
