JAMMU, Dec 24: A woman was attacked by three persons for resisting the eve-teasing attempt on her daughter at Bhagani area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gharota police station.
As per police sources, a woman namely Makhno Devi, wife of Mani Ram of Rabta alongwith her minor daughter studying in class 11th were going home at Gorda from Rabta.
When the duo reached Gorda, three persons identified as Tarsem Lal and Ashok Kumar, sons of Ravi and Bua Ditta, son of Kishore Kumar, trio residents of Baghani, tehsil Bhalwal intercepted them and started eve-teasing woman’s daughter.
The lady restricted them from doing so and trio attacked her with sharp edged weapon, causing injuries in her left hand. The accused also kept the woman and her daughter hostage.
Finding a gap, the woman and her daughter escaped from the clutches of accused and reported the matter to police station Gharota.
In her complaint, the lady narrated the whole episode and also stated that the accused also snatched her gold chain (Mangal Sutar).
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 99/15 under Section 341, 323, 342, 382 and 294 RPC has been registered at Gharota police station and manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
However, no arrest was made till last reports were compiled.
