JAMMU, Aug 3: A woman allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in Gharota area of city outskirts.
“Hashira Kouser (25) wife of Shahid Ali, resident of Danu (Gharota), was found unconscious at her residence late last night”, a police official said. He said family members immediately took her to Sub District Hospital, Akhnoor, where doctors declared her as brought dead.
“According to the doctors, the woman had consumed some poisonous substance”, the official said, adding, today after getting conducted postmortem, the body of the deceased woman was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.
Gharota police has initiated inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC in the case, he further added.
