Woman drug peddler among 3 held with 246 gm heroin-like-substance

JAMMU, Mar 19: Three drug peddlers, including a woman, were arrested from different areas of this district with 246 grams of heroin-like-substance today.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Gandhi Nagar Police Station headed by Inspector Sudhir Sadhotra, SHO, assisted by PSI Zulfiqar Ahmed, under the supervision of SDPO South Kartik Shrotriya and SP South Ajay Sharma apprehended a woman drug peddler, identified as Kosur Sotra of Jammu with 231 grams of heroin-like-substance.
The accused has been booked in case FIR number 68/2024 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation taken up.
Meanwhile, another team of Narwal Police Post led by SHO Bahu Fort, Amit Sangra, assisted by incharge Police Post Narwal Sanjeev under the supervision of SDPO East Sheezan Bhat and SP South Ajay Sharma apprehended two drug peddlers from Narwal area with 15 grams of heroin-like-substance.
Police have identified as accused as Pawan Kumar of Garh Samna Banj, Udhampur, and Balraj Singh of Sehora, Tehsil Amritsar.
They have been accordingly booked in case FIR number 65/2024 under sections 8/21/22/25 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and further investigation taken up.
