JAMMU, Mar 29: A woman immolated herself by pouring kerosene oil in Bantalab area, falling under the jurisdiction of Domana police station.
As per police sources, a woman namely 55-year-old Sukh Dai, wife of late Ram Chand of Bantalab immolated herself by pouring kerosene oil at her residence in Bantalab area yesterday.
She was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where she failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to her burn injuries today.
The body has been handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Domana police station and investigation started to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
