JAMMU, Mar 24: A migrant labourer woman was killed by her husband over some tiff in Channi Himmat area today.
A police spokesman said that, a migrant labourer woman namely Bhoori Bhi, wife of Sham Lal of Kreri, tehsil Raj Nagar, district Chattarpur, Madhya Pradesh, presently living in a rented accommodation at Sector 5, Channi Himmat had some tiff with her husband over some trivial issue.
In the fit of rage, the husband attacked his wife with a sharp edged weapon.
Leaving the victim in a pool of blood, the accused escaped from the spot.
On getting information, police team from Channi Himmat police station rushed to the spot and shifted the profusely bleeding woman to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors pronounced her as brought dead.
The body of the victim was handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
On specific inputs, police team from Channi Himmat police station headed by SHO Aejaz Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq arrested the accused from a hideout and also recovered the weapon of offence.
A case under FIR number 32/14 under Section 302 RPC has been registered at Channi Himmat police station and investigation started.
