Jammu’s largest open category Duathlon held

JAMMU, Oct 2: Jammu Hill Runners (JHR) and Jammu Hill Cyclist (JHC) today organised first edition of Duathlon 70.3 wherein 28 athletes including women from Jammu participated.
Some of the finest athletes from Jammu braved the tough conditions and made their city proud by performing their potential in the respective Duathlon in the prestigious Jammu Duathlon 70.3. The event was powered by AM Hyundai.
Determined to win, about 28 athletes gathered at the Koushal Farms Bishnah to participate in the first edition of the Jammu Duathlon 2020. The Jammu’s first Duathlon consist of ‘Running and Cycling’-the usual format was run-cycle-run.
The event was flagged off by elite runner SP Surinder Choudhury at 4 am. The Duathlon 70.3 started with 2 KM running, 90 KM Cycling and then finished with running leg 21 kms with final cut off time 8:30 Hours.
The cycling and running course was challenging with some good climbs and quick descents but the participants pushed themselves towards the finish line.
Pertinent to mention here that the JHR and JHC had set up aid points at every kilometre throughout the route for hydration and refreshments.
The participants of the event were Manav, Aman Gupta, Rajveer Singh, Sawan Nagpal, Parshotam, Neetan Kumar, Sindhu Sharma, Abhishake Gupta, Sumit Gandotra, Rahul Sharma, Dheeraj Gupta, Rajesh Padha, Ajay K Sharma, Navdeep Singh Sangha, Pankaj Jagotra, Suri, Ajay Vaid, Praveen Raina, Vivek Magotra, Vijay Singh, Animesh, Kanupriya Garg, Ronit Verma, BVS Venugopal, Rohit Panjalia, Rajesh Koul, Deepak Kohli, Raman Singh, Sanjog Katoch and Suraj Pratap Singh.
