JAMMU, Apr 30: A workshop on Consumer Rights Awareness (CRA) was conducted at MHAC School, Nagbani in collaboration with the Consumer’s Welfare Association, Jammu, here today.
GS Chib, Director CAPD was the chief guest on the occasion.
The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Ramesh Kumar, Additional Secretary CAPD, Amar Singh, Joint Controller Legal Metrology Department, Vikram Gaur, president, Consumer Welfare Association and Manoj Prabhakar, Deputy Controller Legal Metrology Department.
Alok Betab, Principal, MHAC School, Nagbani presided over the function.
The workshop was an eye opener for the Class XI and XII students and staff of the School.
Mr Prabhakar elaborated upon the legal provisions for the protection of consumers and the standardization of weights and measures.
GS Chib and Vikram Gour made the students aware of their duties and consumer rights.
He gave information regarding their concerned departments and how the consumers can seek redressal against unfair trade practices & exploitations.
Before the expert speakers, there were the student speakers from the school who expressed their ideas regarding the rights of the consumer and the problems faced by the common man.
The student speakers Aporva, Akash Sharma and Vasundhara were awarded mementoes by the chief guest.
From the school side, the Principal Alok Betab presented mementoes to the dignitaries.
